Looking for a way to dress up your next photobook project?
We are now in the “12 days” of Christmas, and Photobook season is in full swing both at Houchen Bindery Ltd. and many of the print providers we serve. I had never yet set up an account on Tumblr until just now, so I took this project as the perfect opportunity to share a new idea I just came up with this weekend.
First component of the piece was the layflat book block using Convertible Solution’s TRU-Flat® binding technology. I had picked up one these samples up at Graph Expo, and had spoke about it back in October here.
Secondly I took one of the pre-made hardcover cases from Houchen Bindery Ltd. This one was on Pearl Drop Luminaire and featured the debossed style cover with the tip-on photo. I had previously spoke about these new type of pre-made hard cover cases here. I added the “moleskine style” elastic band myself (with glue, razor and special hand techniques), and cased in the book block using Convertible Solution’s adhesive end sheets. I have often been asked about elastic bands like this on a book or journal, so I used this project as a learning experience on how to produce those. I think I now have perfected methods of producing these by hand and in quantities if the situation called for it.

There’s still time, but you will have to act fast if you want something by Christmas! Our last day to accept Christmas orders on our pre-made cases is Dec 14th, 2012 at 3:00 and last day we can ship out pre-made cases is Dec 20th, 2012. That’s the great part…..We have set this up to allow orders as low as ONE! We have price breaks at 5/10/25 /50 and on up to quantities as large as 500. So you don’t need to invest in alot of inventory to get started in offering these Photo Books!
Are there any restrictions?
We will monitor people who register to insure they are true re-sellers of the appropriate products. This is not an offering direct to consumers. Bindsource.com is a wholesale trade portal.
